Numerical Representation Installation_2018_5min
Most of the visual media we see in our daily life is produced through computer editing programs.
These images we encounter are pixelated, digitised visual illusions, and made through the continuous choices of numerical operations of programs.
Therefore, people in this age can be considered to be surrounded by images created by the choices of numbers,
a spectacle made through the transformation of numerical signals which are already existing on editing programs.
I thought in terms of the mechanism of visual media, continuous choices of numbers seem to look similar to human decision making.
In the modern society we believe that everything from buying things to a person’s identity is determined by your own choice.
It gives people the belief that your own choices can change your life, like a image made by many tools in photoshop.
That image you made look like your own creature, but actually you only click the number continuously within a spectrum of number ranges which already exist.
So I made a video about the correlation between visual editing program and human’s choice and I wanted to ask where the act of choice really comes from.
